Bio
Alessandro Cortini is an Italian musician and modular-synthesizer player and a longstanding member of Nine Inch Nails, with whom he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 as the first Italian to receive that honour. As a solo artist he releases on Mute, Hospital and Important Records, and his Mute albums include Volume Massimo (2019), Scuro Chiaro (2021) and NATI INFINITI (2024). Mute describes his music as balancing "dark ambience with smoky, pulsing rhythms". Cortini has collaborated with Lawrence English, Merzbow and Daniel Avery (on the 2020 album Illusion of Time), designed the Strega synthesizer with Make Noise, and has soundtracked catwalk shows for Alexander McQueen, Dior and Fendi.
