Bio
Grand River is the project of Aimée Portioli, a Berlin-based Dutch-Italian composer and sound designer whose experimental electronic music draws on minimalism and ambient music. Her albums include Blink A Few Times To Clear Your Eyes (2020) and All Above (2023) on Editions Mego, and she has also released on Spazio Disponibile, Caterina Barbieri's light-years, Ghostly International, Tresor and Umor Rex. Portioli pairs analogue and digital synthesis with acoustic instruments, with the piano at the centre of All Above, and since 2016 she has run One Instrument, a label for music made with just one instrument. She has performed at festivals including Atonal, CTM, MUTEK and WOS, and at venues such as the Centre Pompidou, the Barbican Centre and Berghain.
